Users lists the people your app tells Tuti about: who they are, what you know about them (their properties, like plan or MRR) and what they've done on your portal and in the widget. Companies groups them by the company they're at. Everyone on your team can see both.
How people get into Users
Tuti knows each user by their id in your app. They come in three ways, all matched by that id:
Single sign-on. When your app signs someone in to your portal or the widget, the token's
subis their id and itspropertiesare what you know about them. See Sign your users in with single sign-on.The API.
users.syncsends up to 1,000 users per call, for example from a nightly job, including people who haven't signed in yet.Acting for someone. Creating a post, a vote or a conversation through the API on behalf of someone from your app adds them too.

About properties:
A property's value is text (up to 200 characters), a number,
trueorfalse, or a list of up to 50 texts. Names are up to 64 characters, and a user has up to 50 properties. Each sign-in or sync sets the properties it names and keeps the rest. Send one as
nullto remove it.A bad property in a sign-in token is left out, and the person still signs in. The API refuses the whole call instead, and says what's wrong.
companyis the property Companies groups people by.
People who sign up on your portal themselves aren't listed. When one of them has verified the same email as one of your users, what they do counts for that user, and they're in that user's reader groups.
Find someone

Open Users. The People view has a row per user:
Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
User | Their picture, name, email and id. |
Your properties | The properties you picked with Columns. Company and Plan to start with. |
Groups | The reader groups they're in now. It shows when your project has reader groups. |
Posts | Posts they wrote, not counting ones merged into another. |
Votes | Their votes on other people's posts. |
Conversations | Their conversations with your team, not counting spam or closed ones older than your plan's history. |
Last seen | The last time they posted, voted, commented, wrote to you or had Messages open in the widget. "Never" if none. |
To find people:
Search: type a name, an email or an id in Name, email or id. An id has to match exactly.
Group: pick a reader group to see only the people in it, or All users. It shows when your project has reader groups. See Group your readers.
Sort: click a column's heading. User sorts by name, A to Z. Posts, Votes, Conversations and Last seen put the most, or the latest, first.
Users shows 50 people a page, with Previous and Next. On a phone, the table shows only who they are and when they were last seen.
Choose the columns
Owners and admins choose which properties show as columns. Choose Columns, then tick or untick properties under Properties shown. A column you add goes last. You can show up to 10.
The names of the columns, and how their values look, come from Settings → User properties. See Name and format your users' properties.
Look at one user

Click someone's name to open their page:
Who they are: their picture, name, email, id and reader groups.
Properties: everything you know about them, named and formatted as in Settings → User properties.
Posts, Votes (on other people's posts) and Conversations, each with how many. Each post shows its status, and each conversation its number and status. Click one to open it. Each list shows up to 500.
Your Inbox shows the same profile beside a conversation with them, with their five latest posts, votes and other conversations.
Compare companies

Choose Companies above the table. Each company your users are at, by their company property, shows with:
Users: how many of your users are at it.
Votes: their votes on posts none of them wrote.
Your Who's asking property, such as MRR: its total over the company's users. The column shows once you pick a property in Settings → Who's asking. See Name and format your users' properties.
It starts with the companies with the most users. Click Users, Votes or the total's heading to put the most first. Click a company to see its people: People then says "Users at Northwind · All users", and All users goes back to everyone.
In the API
users.list lists your users, with q, group, company and sort as on the page. users.get gets one by their id, and companies.list lists the companies with their users, votes and total. See Use the API and MCP.
