Your project can receive support email in the Inbox and answer it from there. It gets an address of its own, like [email protected]. On the Pro and Business plans, you can use your company's address instead, like [email protected].
These settings are in Settings โ Inbox and email. Only owners and admins can see and change them.
Get your support address
Under Email, choose Get a support address, if the card shows it. The address is named after your portal's address (acme for acme.tuti.so), and your project keeps it for good, even if you change the portal's address later. Your replies in the Inbox are emailed from it, so get it before you start answering.

Emails sent to it land in the Inbox. Under it, the card says when the last email came in, or "No email received yet."
On any plan, you can give this address to your users, or forward your company's address to it from your email provider (see below). Until you set up your own address, your replies come from your support address.
Use your own address
Your own address is on the Pro and Business plans. On Free, the card says "Emailing from your own domain needs the Pro plan." You can still forward your company's address to your support address, as below: emails to it land in the Inbox, and replies come from your support address.
It works in two directions, each a step of its own. Under Your own address, enter your company's address and choose Use this address. A domain can be used by one project only.

Sending emails
Sending emails shows 3 CNAME records that let Tuti send email as your domain. The table has each record's Type, Name, Content, TTL and Status, with a copy button beside the name and the content.
Add the 3 records at your domain's DNS provider. If your provider supports one-click setup, an Add with button (like Add with Cloudflare) adds them there for you.
Choose Check DNS. DNS changes can take a while to show. Tuti also checks again every day.
When the step says Verified, replies to your users come from your address. Send a test email sends one to you from it.
Until then, the step says Waiting for DNS and each record Pending, and replies come from your support address. If the records stop being found later, the step says Not verified with the reason, and replies come from your support address until it's verified again. Keep the records for as long as you use the address.
Once your address is verified, your project's other emails to your users come from your domain too, from updates@ your domain: portal sign-in links, password resets, access invitations, and emails about posts and the changelog. See When emails to your users wait or are paused.
Receiving emails
Tuti doesn't take over your domain's email: it stays with your email provider. There, you forward your address to your support address. Receiving emails shows both, as From and To, each with a copy button. It also says which provider receives your domain's email, and links to its guide:
Whichever you use:
Keep the sender. Tuti answers whoever wrote, so forward in a way that keeps the original sender: a mailbox's forwarding setting, an alias or a routing rule. An Outlook rule's Forward sends a new email from your own address; use Redirect instead.
Confirm it in the Inbox. Most providers send a link or a code to the address you forward to before they start. It lands in your Tuti Inbox: open it there.
Don't use a mailing list. A group with your support address as a member sends list mail, which the Inbox ignores. Forward the address itself.
Check it. Send an email to your address from another account. The step says Waiting for an email until one arrives, then Forwarded, with when the last one came.

The Inbox also ignores auto-replies and bounces. Emails whose sender's domain fails its own authentication checks go to Spam.
No email provider yet
If nothing receives email for your domain (it has no MX records), Receiving emails says so. Set up a forwarding service first: Cloudflare Email Routing, if your DNS is at Cloudflare, or ImprovMX. Both are free. Then forward your address to your support address there.
Another provider
Look in your provider's settings for forwarding, an alias, or a mail routing rule for your address, and send it to your support address. Pick an option that keeps the original sender, then send a test email.
If you change plans
On a plan without Your own address, your address stays set up, but replies come from your support address until your plan includes it again. Sending emails says so. Forwarding keeps working: emails to your address still land in the Inbox.
Remove it
Choose Remove address, then Remove. Replies come from your support address again. You can then remove the 3 records from your DNS. Keep forwarding the address if you still want its emails in the Inbox.
To switch to another domain, remove the current address first.
