Customize → SEO sets how your portal looks in search results and when someone shares a link to it, in chat apps or on social sites. The preview shows a search result and a shared-link card as you type.

SEO's preview: a search result and a shared link card with the share image

Set your search listing

Under Search results:

  • Page title: in browser tabs and search results. 50 to 60 characters works best, up to 70. Leave it empty to use your project's name.

  • Meta description: the line under the title in search results, up to 160 characters. Without one, search engines pick a line from the page.

Add a share image

Share image is shown with links to your portal on social sites and in chat apps. 1200×630 pixels works best; PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF. Choose Upload or drop an image on the field, then Save changes.

Which pages use them

The title, description and share image apply to your portal's pages that don't have their own:

  • Each docs article has its own title, followed by your project's name. Its description is the Meta description in its settings, or else the start of its text. See Article settings.

  • When an article is shared, the card shows the article's title and description with your portal's share image and name.

What Tuti does for search engines

You don't need to set anything up for these:

  • A sitemap at /sitemap.xml lists your portal's public pages: boards, posts, the roadmap, changelog entries and docs.

  • An llms.txt file at /llms.txt describes your portal for AI tools: links to each docs article's Markdown, your changelog and your boards.

  • robots.txt points search engines to the sitemap.

Both leave out pages only signed-in readers or some groups can read, unlisted articles, articles that block search indexing, and sample content.

If your portal is private, robots.txt asks search engines to stay out. See Private portal.
