A product's portal can email you when an idea you asked for ships, when its team replies to an idea you voted for, and with its changelog. You choose which of these you get, for each portal on its own. This article is for the people reading a portal.
What a portal can email you
When a post is done: when the team marks a post you wrote, voted on, commented on or follow as Completed, you get one email, "Done: โฆ", sometimes with a note from the team.
The team's replies: when the team replies to a post and chooses to email its voters, you get the reply if you voted for it. Writing a post counts as voting for it.
The changelog: the entries the team emails to subscribers, if you subscribed.
Some emails always arrive, whatever you choose here: replies to messages you sent the team, sign-in links and password emails, and the notice that you've been let into a private portal.
Change your email settings
Sign in to the portal.
Choose your picture at the top right, then Account settings.
In the Emails card, turn each switch on or off.

Each change saves at once, and "Email settings saved" confirms it.
Switch | What it covers |
|---|---|
Posts I wrote | When your posts ship, and the team's replies emailed to voters. |
Posts I voted on or follow | When those posts ship, and, for ones you voted on, the team's replies emailed to voters. |
The changelog | The entries the team emails to subscribers. Turning it on subscribes your address straight away, with no email to confirm. |
Email me nothing from the product's name | None of the emails above, whatever you follow. |
Stop all of a portal's emails
Turn on Email me nothing from the product's name. The switches above it turn off and grey out. Turn it off again to choose your emails one by one.

This only affects that one portal. Other products' portals keep emailing you as before.
Confirm your address first
The portal only emails addresses that have been confirmed. If yours isn't, the card says "Confirm your email address to get these." Choose Resend email to get the confirmation link again.
Until you've confirmed it, The changelog and Email me nothing can't be turned on. Once Email me nothing is on, you can always turn it off.
Unsubscribe from an email
Emails about posts end with Unsubscribe from the product's name. It opens a page on the portal, Stop emails from the product's name?, where Unsubscribe does the same as Email me nothing. Turn it off in your Account settings to get emails again.
Changelog emails end with Unsubscribe. It opens a page with an Unsubscribe button, which ends your changelog subscription only.
Get the changelog by email
On a public portal, the Changelog page has a Get updates by email box: enter your address, choose Subscribe, then confirm from the email you get. If you're signed in with a confirmed address, you can turn on The changelog in your Account settings instead. A private portal's changelog isn't emailed.
When there are no switches
Some accounts can't get a portal's emails about posts, so the Emails card says why instead:
You're on the product's team. The project doesn't email its team about posts. If its changelog is emailed, you still see The changelog and Email me nothing.
You signed in through another site's single sign-on. Choose Sign in in the card to sign in on this portal, then choose your emails.
The portal is private and your account isn't allowed to read it.
Your sign-in didn't give an email address, so there's nowhere to send them.
If a board says you've unsubscribed
A board's Get updates card says "You've unsubscribed from these emails." when you've turned off its emails, either with Email me nothing or the switch for posts you voted on. Choose that line to open your Account settings and turn them back on.
To change your name or sign out, see Sign in to a portal.
