Customize is where you change how your portal and docs look, with a live preview of the portal beside the settings. It's in your project's sidebar, for owners and admins.

Customize on Branding: the sections on the left, the settings in the middle and the portal's preview on the right

Find a section

Customize opens on Branding. Its sections are in a rail on the left, in three groups:

  • Appearance:

    • Branding: colour scheme, accent colour, logo, fonts, favicon and "Powered by tuti". See Branding.

    • Navigation: what your portal's address opens, and links in the header, docs sidebar and footer. See Navigation.

    • Docs home: the top of your docs' home page. See Docs home.

  • Features:

  • Advanced:

    • SEO: how your portal shows in search results and shared links. See SEO.

    • Custom code: your own CSS and HTML. See Custom code.

While Customize is open, the app's sidebar folds down to icons to make room. On a narrow screen the sections are in a Customize: … menu at the top, and the preview comes after the settings.

You can also jump straight to a section from the app's search: type its name, such as "SEO".

Try changes in the preview

The preview shows the portal page that the section changes: your portal's home page for Branding, Navigation and Custom code, an article for Content actions, the docs' home for Docs home. SEO shows a search result and a shared link instead, and Widget shows the widget open on a stand-in page.

  • Changes show as you make them. Pick a colour, upload a logo or type a link, and the preview updates before you save.

  • Desktop or phone. The buttons above the preview switch between a desktop width and a phone's.

  • Light or dark. The sun and moon buttons show the preview in light or dark mode. This only changes the preview, not what your readers see.

  • Click around. Links in the preview open in the preview. Links to other sites open in a new tab.

  • Private portals show too. If your portal is private, the preview shows it as your team sees it, not its sign-in page.

The bar above the preview shows the address readers use, such as your custom domain.

Save your changes

Each section has one Save changes button at the top of its settings. It turns on once something has changed, and a message says when it's saved.

The Home page choice in Navigation is the exception: it saves as soon as you pick it.

If you leave a section with changes you haven't saved, Tuti asks Leave without saving? first. Keep editing takes you back; Leave drops the changes.

What's elsewhere

Settings that aren't about the portal's look are in Settings:

  • Settings → Domain: your portal's address, a custom domain, a sub-folder of your site, and redirects. See Your portal's address and Redirects.

  • Settings → Access: who can read the portal. See Private portal.

  • Settings → AI answers: how the AI answers readers' questions. See AI answers.
