Your app sends properties about your users, such as mrr or signed_up_at. Settings → User properties sets how each one shows: a name of your own and a format, like money in euros or a date. It applies everywhere the team sees properties: Users, the profile beside a conversation in your Inbox, and Who's asking. Owners and admins can change it. To get properties into Tuti in the first place, see See your users and the companies they're at.

See your properties

Settings, User properties: Company, MRR, Plan, Seats and Signed up, each with its key and format

Open Settings → User properties. Each property your users have is listed with the name it shows as, then its key and its format, such as "mrr · Money, USD".

Until properties arrive, it says "None yet. Your app adds them when it signs people in with single sign-on, or sends them with the API (users.sync)."

Rename a property or change its format

The Edit dialog for mrr: Name shown MRR, Format Money, Currency USD
  1. Choose Edit beside the property.

  2. In Name shown, type the name your team should see, up to 64 characters.

  3. Pick a Format: Text, Number, Money or Date. For Money, pick a Currency: USD (the default), EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, CHF, SEK, INR, JPY or BRL.

  4. Choose Save. It says "Saved how mrr shows", with the property's key.

Each save changes only that property.

Names and formats you don't set

Until you name a property, it shows its key in words, starting with a capital: company_size and companySize show as "Company size", seats as "Seats". Some short keys show in capitals: mrr is "MRR", and so are arr, ltv, nps, api, id, sso and url. Name shown shows that name as a hint. Clear the field to go back to it.

Until you pick a format, a property with number values shows as a Number if it reads as an amount. Keys that look like an id or a time (ending in id, at, date, created and the like) or mention a year, a zip or postal code or a phone number show their values as they are. Everything else shows as Text.

If two properties would show the same name, or a name the table already has, such as Groups, Users shows their keys instead so you can tell them apart.

  • Number adds thousands separators and up to 2 decimal places.

  • Money shows the currency's symbol, and cents only when the amount isn't whole.

  • Date reads text that starts with a date, like 2025-03-14 or 2025-03-14T09:30:00Z, or a Unix timestamp in seconds or milliseconds. It shows the calendar day.

  • A list shows its items separated by commas.

  • A value that doesn't fit its format, such as text in a Number property, shows as it is.

Who's asking

Settings, Who's asking: the property to total is None, with a Use MRR suggestion

Who's asking totals a number property over each post's voters, so you can see what a post is worth to you, such as the MRR of everyone who wants it. Only your team sees it.

  1. Open Settings → Who's asking.

  2. Pick the property in the list. Only number properties are offered. None turns it off.

While it's None, Tuti suggests a property when your users have one that reads as an amount: "Your users have MRR, a number Feedback can total." Choose Use MRR to pick it. It says "Feedback totals MRR over each post's voters".

The total uses the property's name and format from User properties, so set MRR to Money first. It shows on Feedback and on each post (see Triage your feedback), and as a column in Users → Companies.

In the API

propertyFormats.update sets the name and format of some properties and keeps the rest, and project.update picks Who's asking with askingProperty. See Use the API and MCP.
